His attainments are of a high order and he
bears the reputation of a conscientious and sound lawyer. In his work as a Government servant he displayed marked
ability and application and in every way justified his
reputation.

Mr. Alabaster has not held a judicial post
in the Colony, but his professional and personal
qualifications give every reason to think that he would be
an acquisition to the Bench: and I have no hesitation in giving my support to his application.
